Urasawa’s Monster gets a re-release!

monsterMaybe this is old news for you but I just found out today and I’m super excited!

VIZ announced that they’ll re-release the Monster Manga in a 2-in-1 Perfect Edition! First volume will be released this July, I already pre-ordered this on amazon >_<

This series went out of print and is super hard to find, both in English and in German, leading to insane pricing for single volumes. I’ve been meaning to get this for an eternity now and I’m happy I can buy these at a decent price again.

Double volumes will be $19,99 and will be released every 3 months. As the original release is completed in 18 volumes, the Perfect Edition will be finished with 9.

Can’t. Wait!!! :D

If you don’t happen to know the story, here it is:

“Monster weaves the riveting story of brilliant Dr. Kenzo Tenma, a famous surgeon with a promising career at a leading hospital. Tenma risks his reputation and promising career to save the life of a critically wounded young boy. Unbeknownst to him, this child is destined for a terrible fate.
A string of strange and mysterious murders begin to occur soon afterward, ones that professionally benefit Dr. Tenma, and he emerges as the primary suspect. Conspiracies, serial murders, and a scathing depiction of the underbelly of hospital politics are all masterfully woven together in this compelling manga thriller.

Won the 46th Shogakukan Manga Award in the General category. ”
